Need a caffeine pick me up? Our house blend drip coffee is organic, fair trade and locally roasted.. Enjoy an Americano or latte prepared by a barista on our vintage Elektra. Our bar opens at ten am where we pour twelve varieties of mimosas and a seasonal craft cocktail menu.

Allergy Policy

In our sincerest effort to accommodate all our guests we have assessed our operations and have determined that we have limitations in serving meals for guests with serious allergies. The Blue Toque kitchen is very small, we are unable to have dedicated storage, prep areas, cooking equipment or cooks to accommodate allergen-free dining. All menu items may contain trace amounts of allergens, including but not limited to; tree nuts, sesame seeds, mustard, flour, dairy, soy, fish, shell fish, legumes, pea protein, mushrooms and egg products. Standard menu items follow a strict no alterations policy. Please inform your server prior to ordering if you have allergies or intolerances. Guests with serious allergies must speak with a manager prior to ordering.  We reserve the right to decline preparing certain dishes due to allergy concerns (tree nuts and wheat flour are especially problematic at all times). Items described as gluten free or dairy free are “lifestyle” food choice terms and in no way imply allergy safe, celiac safe or cross contact free. No guarantees of allergen-free or cross contact-free can be made. The Blue Toque Diner Ltd. assumes no liability as a result of food related reactions or Covid-19 related complications.

This morning we got up and left the safety and comfort of our homes. We said goodbye to our partners, children, pets, we took off our soft pants and suited up for work. We are here because we want to be, not because we must be. We are not essential.

Dining with us today is not essential, it is not a right, it is a privilege.

We will endeavor to be kind, respectful, civil and patient. Hopefully we will be pleasant, friendly, fun and joyful. We hope you will be these things too!

We are facing even more restrictions than ever before which will create more challenges and pressure for our team. Our ethos has always been people before profits and taking care of the many over the one. At NO time has this resonated more than right now.

 

The Blue Toque’s Anti bullying policy: The BTGD endeavors to be a discrimination free zone. We have zero tolerance for sexism, racism, ableism, ageism, homophobia and all other forms of discrimination that belittle the human being. We believe that no employee should be bullied, belittled, harassed or made to tolerate aggressive behavior. This includes conduct from customers, vendors, service providers, coworkers and management. Belligerence, harassment, or rudeness will not be tolerated. You will be required to leave and will not be welcome back.

 

Belligerent: acting in a hostile or aggressive manner.

Harassment: aggressive pressure or intimidation directed at staff while they are performing duties.

Rudeness: derogatory language, aggressive body language or raising your voice.
